Assistant Underwriter

Together with the Underwriting team, as an enthusiastic Assistant you offer suitable solutions for the insurance of the liability risk of nationally and internationally operating companies. You proactively take matters off the hands of the Underwriters and support where necessary. In this way you indirectly make a commercial contribution and you contribute to the success of the team. Our client is an international insurance company with offices on all continents.

Activities

  • Proactively direct and assist the Underwriters in portfolio management.
  • Create and maintain portfolio and claim statements.
  • Prepare, pre-select and have information entered for requests for quotations.
  • Being able to independently assess changes to policies and risks, after settlements and renewals and to process these changes in the systems.
  • Checking and (arranging for) approval of policies supplied by brokers in response to changes in the contracts agreed by them with the Underwriters.
  • Management and division of labor of the general UW mailbox.
  • Supporting and/or taking care of general internal and external communication.
  • Building and maintaining a network of relationships both internally and externally.
  • Possibility to further develop yourself in a role as (junior) Underwriter!

Profile

  • HBO working and thinking level.
  • (If you are interested as an almost completed HBO student, they are certainly open to this!)
  • Previous work experience in a similar role with an insurer or insurance broker is a plus.
  • A WFT damage business certificate or willingness to obtain one.
  • Proficient (spoken and written) in the Dutch and English language.
  • Specific knowledge and experience in the field of technical insurance applications, Windows applications, products/services, workflow and administrative organization of the department.
  • Proactive, service-oriented, self-confident, decisive and someone who takes on work and pursues business.
  • Maintain overview and handle work smoothly and efficiently by asking the right questions.
