(Senior) Individual Acceptor

Hoorn 32-40 hours p.w. Fixed 36k - 70k / yr Posted on October 1st

We are seeking a Senior and Mid-Level Underwriter for Personal Insurance in Hoorn for a professional organization in the insurance industry.

You’ll be part of an experienced underwriting team where you’ll be responsible for handling more complex personal insurance issues. These include risks involving high insured amounts, unusual situations, or applications that require a more in-depth assessment than standard underwriting.

In addition to managing your own portfolio, you’ll serve as a subject-matter expert for colleagues and advisors. You’ll share your knowledge, mentor less experienced colleagues, and actively contribute ideas for improvements within the team.

What will you do?

    Your responsibilities will include:
  • Assessing and underwriting complex and high-value personal risks;
  • Advising advisors on insurance options, terms and conditions, and underwriting issues;
  • Preparing and reviewing quotes for new insurance policies and policy changes;
  • Analyzing customer needs and translating them into appropriate insurance solutions;
  • Identifying commercial opportunities based on the customer’s best interests and professional expertise;
  • Handling questions, issues, and complaints from clients and advisors;
  • Mentoring and coaching colleagues and sharing professional expertise;
  • Performing quality checks and ensuring accurate documentation in files and systems;
  • Identifying opportunities for improvement within processes, systems, products, and services;
  • Contributing ideas and providing support for the implementation of these improvements. This gives you a role that goes beyond mere underwriting: your knowledge and experience will be actively utilized within the team.

What do you offer?

    You are an experienced insurance professional who is not afraid to make decisions independently while also enjoying working collaboratively with colleagues. You have:
  • At least an MBO diploma, preferably in financial services;
  • Wft Basis certification;
  • Wft Property & Casualty (Private) certification;
  • Assurantie A or a comparable industry certification is a plus;
  • Experience in personal property and casualty insurance and underwriting;
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written;
  • A customer-focused and business-minded attitude;
  • The ability to carefully assess risks;
  • A proactive attitude and the drive to share knowledge with colleagues;
  • You feel comfortable in an environment that requires regularly switching between advisors, clients, colleagues, and complex underwriting issues.

What do you get back?

  • Salary between €3,174 and €5,040 gross per month based on a 40-hour workweek, depending on knowledge and experience;
  • 13th-month bonus;
  • 8% vacation pay;
  • 27 vacation days for full-time employment;
  • Generous pension plan with a limited employee contribution;
  • Travel allowance;
  • Work-from-home allowance;
  • Flexible working hours;
  • Opportunities for training, development, and professional growth;
  • Regular group lunches, happy hours, and company outings;
  • Active wellness program.

Are you ready to take the next step where you can truly put your experience as an underwriter to good use?

If so, we’d love to hear from you. Even if you don’t meet every requirement but have solid experience in personal insurance, we’d be happy to discuss the possibilities.

Please contact DUUW for more information about the position, the team, and the organization.
