As a Financial Analyst, you’ll ensure that everything runs smoothly—from processing and verifying financial entries to analyzing discrepancies and optimizing systems. Activities

  • Accounting Processing: Ensuring the timely and accurate processing of financial entries, including the verification of automatically generated transactions.
  • Review and Analysis: Verifying the accuracy of entries and financial reports, investigating errors and discrepancies, making corrections where necessary, and preventing future errors.
  • Liaison with brokers: Actively maintaining communication with external brokers to ensure the accurate and timely delivery of financial data and transactions.
  • Internal stakeholder management: Serving as a point of contact for internal departments (such as Broker Relations, Underwriting, Claims, and Accounting) to resolve questions and issues related to bookkeeping and financial transactions.
  • Process optimization and standardization: Contribute to improving the booking process by implementing solutions for recurring discrepancies and integrating them into standardized processes to increase efficiency, reduce errors, and ensure continuous operational improvements.
  • Variance analysis and root cause resolution: Identify, analyze, and resolve exceptions or discrepancies in business processes and data flows to ensure timely resolution and minimal operational disruptions.
  • Automation: Proactively managing automation processes (fully or partially) to maintain the effective operation of systems, including root cause analyses and solutions when issues arise.
  • Reporting: Periodically reporting on the progress of financial administration and identifying potential risks or areas for improvement.
  • Compliance: Ensuring that all entries comply with internal and external regulations, such as IFRS and other relevant guidelines.

Profile

  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively.
  • Fluent in English and Dutch.
  • Minimum associate’s degree level of education and thinking.
  • At least 2–3 years of experience in a financial or accounting role.
  • Experience with automated accounting systems and a fundamental understanding of accounting principles.
  • Experience with ERP systems and automation required.
